Senior care Fairfax may be a good solution for adult children of aging parents or loved ones who can no longer live by themselves, but do not yet need full time medical attention as in a nursing home. Parents tend to being needing supervision and daily help at a time when their children are busy with children and careers of their own. In an elderly community home, residents get the level of help and attention they need, in a safe, socially encouraging environment.

If residents are able to continue cleaning, cooking, and perform other daily tasks, there are units to accommodate their level of self-dependency. Because this is a transitional stage, they may no longer be able to do some of these things. It may be particularly hard to live alone and deal with maintaining an entire house and yard, and keeping up with medications and doctors appointments.

In this setting, these individuals are allowed to continue performing daily tasks as able, but the facility provides laundry, food, grocery, and cleaning services for those who need it. This allows residents to maintain a similar lifestyle and level of self-dependency they enjoyed while living alone. However, the tasks that are too tiring or difficult are handled by qualified staff members.

Taking medications and making it to doctor appointments are both very important for people in this stage of life. Adult children often worry that meds are being missed, or that their aging parents aren't getting enough exercise. Most facilities offer transportation to and from appointments, medical and otherwise, and assist with medications on a daily basis, as well as providing exercise programs.

Isolation is a problem for the elderly who live alone. Diminished reflexes or eyesight may make driving untenable, and public transportation can often be overwhelming and difficult to access. In an community environment, residents are offered a myriad of social programs, and have daily contact with peers who share their interests.

Elderly need to have as much freedom as possible to see to themselves and their own needs. They are unable to deal with everything at home, but in such facilities, they are able to enjoy these freedoms, without the burden of tasks they are no longer able to handle. Try Senior Care Fairfax for that aging parent or loved one.
